Are you planning to buy air conditioner (AC) this summer for your home and confused about how to choose the best air conditioner brands? Then this post will help you for sure because here I am going to share with you what important things you should check before buying any air conditioner for your home.
Capacity: First of all you should check the capacity of the room don’t go for any random air conditioner (AC). As per an rough idea an area in range of 120-140 sq.ft. is required 1 ton ac, area between 150-180 sq.ft. will need 1.5 ton ac and area between 180-240 sq.ft. required 2 ton of capacity air conditioner brand. If you want to know how to calculate exact figure of your room and ton of AC you required can read my previously written article here .
Split or Window AC: People got confused what type of AC they should choose for their home Split or Window. No doubt that window ac are cheaper and easy to install, instead split ACs are quieter, aesthetically more pleasingly and provide better air distribution.
Energy Efficiency: Most important factor every consumer should focus on it. It’s very easy to understand which AC is more energy efficient. The higher the star rating meaning higher energy efficiency.
Budget: I don’t need to tell how important budget before buying air conditioner (AC) if you go for higher star rating every star rating has difference of around Rs 2,500 and an Inverter is usually 20% higher than a 5-star rated Split AC.
Service After Sale: Another important factor before buying AC in India is after sale service. So before going for any brands must check it’s service after sale either it’s offering sale after service or not and it’s branches etc.
Maintenance & Cleaning: ACs are also required maintenance and cleaning after installation for better performance in future and need to be clean or service preferably quarterly.
Quality of Air: Air quality of ac is also important while go for any ac must know about its indoor air quality. If your AC has a good filter it will surely going to help improve indoor air quality. A good filter not only ensures clean air but also enhances the cooling performance and energy efficiency of AC.
Weather Conditions: While selecting an air conditioner, you should look for AC that can work efficiently even in extreme weather conditions of Indian summers.
Cooling Speed: AC should have an adjustable thermostat (temperature setting) and at least 2 cooling speeds and a minimum of 2 fans speeds as you may want to use variable speeds for different times of the day.
Exposure to Heat & Sunlight: In case your room is near to your kitchen or the wall of your room is directly exposed to the sun, then you need an AC which have higher cooling capacity.
Hot & Cold AC: With the passage of time people’s requirement is increased they don’t need only AC which provide cool air they also look for the air conditioner which can provide both cold and hot air. These hot & Cold AC also save up to 35% more energy than heaters. It is recommended to buy AC with features which can control humidity and give more comfort in monsoons.
Use of AC: If your AC usage is around 8-10 hours a day for 3 to 4 months, then you should go for minimum 3 star rated AC. In case AC usage of 5 to 7 months then select 5 star rated AC. If your usage for 10-12 months then you must opt out cooling ac only or Hot & Cold Inverter AC.
Brands: Brand is also an important factor while choosing the best air conditioner brand for your home in the summer or any other season. You can find for top 10 air conditioner brands in Google or can read this article list of top 10 best air conditioner brands in India.
