With each compassing educational season, there are hordes of students vying to get into the illustrated programs of master’s stream. One such exam is XAT, the topic of our blog. We’d be looking to profile XAT 2017 along with all the things you should know about it.
What’s XAT?
First and foremost, XAT shortly acronym for Xavier’s Admission Test is a competitive exam that is held under the guidance of XLRI. The test prolongs as the eligibility criteria for admission into multiple education programs like BM, HRM, GMP, MBA and FPM.
The admission test runs every year with the recent one for 2017 batch just on the outset.
XAT 2017 and its Registration
To sadly reinstate to our readers, XAT 2017 Registration is done and dusted for the season. However, there’s still a window open for students seeking their place via registration with late fees.
One can still apply for XAT 2017 with late fees until 11th December 2016. The total application fees involving late charges are INR 2000.
XAT Admit Card
XAT Admit Card will be made available for students at its official website from 20th of December, 2016. The admit card can only be retrieved via online mode. Students are advised to print the said copy of admit card from the official website as it stands as the mandatory documentation for all students.
The said admit cards should be supported with a valid photo id issued by the government of India. However, in cases of any discrepancy or error, the students are advised to seek the XAT Office for amendment. Down below we’d list the address of the XAT Office-

XAT Exam Date
The exam dates for XAT is scheduled for 8th January 2017. The exams will be conducted in offline mode via pen and paper based approach. The exams will run in 47 cities and 2 international centers.
XAT Exam Pattern and Outlet
XAT Exams run over for a period of 3 hrs. and 30 minutes. However, a candidate shall be awarded additional time to attempt the essay portion of the exam. The exam for XAT is set in English stream and will have a total of 103 (78+25) questions. The course structure sets it as Part A and Part B, with them consisting of 78 and 25 questions respectively.
The Part A of the paper will feature English Language, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability and Decision Making. A candidate shall have 3 hrs. to attempt Part A.
Part B of the paper will feature 30 questions with a solving time of 30 minutes. It is based on thesubjective answer and will have ageneral awareness and essay writing as the major syllabus.
XAT Results
As we mentioned up above, XAT Exams will be conducted on 8thJanuary 2017. The results of the exam will be out in the last week of January 2017. A student can access their result via the official website of XAT. The results will be published in stature of scorecards and will be based on the student’s performance in XAT 2017 Exam.
What next after XAT Exam?
After the declaration of results of XAT 2017, institutes will release their required cut-off percentile. For the students who pass the XAT 2017 Exams and are above the cut-off rate, the institutes whereby the candidates have applied earlier will shortlist them for another round. The selection procedure then hinges on group discussion and personal interview round.
